Ukrainian filmmaker, Maksym Nakonechnyi wrapped up this war drama ‘Butterfly Vision’ just before the Russian invasion hit. The movie is about a Ukrainian drone pilot Lilia who gets captured by Russian-backed separatists in Donbas.
The story starts with Lilia going back home. She has a bunch of scars and lots of disturbing memories to deal with. Her mom, who’s really upset, doesn’t give her much support, and her husband, Tokha, who’s part of an extreme militia group, doesn’t offer much either. Meanwhile Lilia, who was held captive, has experienced the distressing event of rape and is now pregnant as a result.
