Bheed NetflixA film that did not receive the audience’s love when it was released in theaters, but it is a must-watch. Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha who is well known for movies like Article 15, Mulk, etc. is back with his Black and White movie based on Covid Lockdown called Bheed.

The movie takes place during the beginning of the pandemic when everyone’s freaking out, spreading rumors, and not knowing what to believe. To control the virus and people’s movements, they set up these checkpoints. You got the police trying to maintain order, doctors running tests, and taking care of the sick. During its course, the movie also sheds light on the cast system of India.

The black and white cinematography might throw you off a bit, but once you’re into the movie, you start to appreciate and vibe with its unique style. As the director Anubhav Sinha said, this black-and-white theme is also used as a reference to the large migration of people during the 1947 partition.

The ensemble cast of Rajkumar Rao, Pankaj Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Aditya Srivastav deliver outstanding performances. ‘Bheed’ is an ‘important’ film that needs to be appreciated. You can watch it on Netflix.
