What Is the Film About?
Sathya (Sachiin) gets arrested for the murder of his wife Shruti (Esha Gupta) on the first night in Goa. However, the body of the dead woman is not found. Special investigation officer Prakash Varma (Kishore) is attached to the case to find out the truth. What is the truth and why some people want to kill Sathya (Sachin) is what the film is all about?
How Is Sachiin Joshi’s Performance?
Sachin is expressionless as usual. He is not able to move freely, a lot of times. It is to the credit of the director that he makes a complete movie by covering all such flaws.
Direction by Tatineni Satya?
Tatineni Satya has directed few remakes in the past, and yet he was unsuccessful. The problem has been the bad casting of the lead. The same problem continues with Veedevadu too. The lead hero is terrible, and he makes most of the movie unbearable.
Looking at the movie ignoring the hero and strictly as a story and narrative. The opening of the film is good, and it generates interest in the plot. It is decent in terms of the story till things reach Goa. The movie stagnates at that point and is boring including the interval.
Post interval things get interesting with the introduction of Catherine arc, but once again the psychiatrist angle puts break to the momentum. It adds nothing to the story except runtime and confusion. After all the mumbo-jumbo, the pre-climax and climax twist is good, which few cued with thrillers can make a guess. Overall, in terms of story, the movie is alright, but the narration makes it dull for a major part. The lead ultimately is the final nail in the coffin.
Esha Gupta and Others?
Esha Gupta is alright in a role that requires her to be bubbly more often than not. She is good in songs. Kishore is spot-on as a no-nonsense cop. Harshavardhan makes laugh in parts. Supreeth overacts. Prabhu delivers when it’s the most necessary. There are some known faces, but none make any impact.Srinivas Reddy manages few laughs but Vennela Kishore gets boring immediately.
Music and Other Departments?
Music by SS Thaman is run of the mill. There is nothing that sticks out musically. The background score is noisy. The cinematography is decent in parts. Editing should have been better. Dialogues lack clarity.
