What is the film Touch Chesi Chudu about?
Karthik (Ravi Teja) leads a peaceful life in Pondicherry looking for a potential wife. During the same time murder of an activist happens which is witnessed by his sister. What happens when the killer takes Karthik back to his past life as Karthikeya, the very hot-headed cop and how he terminates the problem is what the movie is all about?
How is Ravi Teja’s performance?
There is nothing new to add when we talk about the performance of Ravi Teja except for mentioning the fact that he is energy personified. There is never a dull note in his act. Does the content let him down, well that happens most of the time, but the actor always shines, and Touch Chesi Choodu is another example. He looks a bit aged in this movie though unlike his last one.
Direction By Vikram Sirikonda ?
Vikram Sirikonda chooses a very regular commercial film for his debut. He passes the typical Ravi Teja test of fast-paced entertainment, and that is a good thing for his future attempts. In Touch Chesi Choodu he has faltered in the narration.
With the regular commercial entertainer, the idea is always to entertain irrespective if the logic of the plausibility. With that in mind, the movie offers some comedy that could be enjoyed initially. The issue comes with repetition and lack of progress in the story. Simply put, there is a standstill of emotions, and we expect something big to happen. It does arrive but when it comes it is too late, and the resultant action doesn’t match the expectation. The interval appears weak as a result.
The second half starts with a bang with the reintroduction of the character of the hero. But everything that follows is a huge letdown. It fails at multiple levels with zero emotional connect being the most significant issue. One feels as if the director is making a ‘meta’ movie here. Not only is the character of hero restless and going through his duty chores without thinking about the family, but the director too is going through the motions of direction without thinking about narrative or the audience. An utterly tasteless recipe gets served to the viewers in the end.
A messy second half in screenplay and emotions makes Touch Chesi Choodu difficult to sit through till the end. A disappointing debut from an exciting writer is what we eventually get.
Raashi Khanna and others?
Rashi Khanna and Seerat Kapoor are the heroines. The former gets a very hyperactive character and she has done an excellent job. The latter has very less screentime and she has very little role anyways which makes her forgettable. Murali Sharma is dependable as usual. Apart from him there is whole bunch of actors in supporting cast acting as family members of hero. They all fit the parts correctly. Jaya Prakash stands out in one scene given to him. Vennela Kishore is fine.
Music and other departments?
Music by Bollywood composer Pritam’s Jam8 is alright. They have the right ideas, but the final output did not match the expectations. The background score is alright. The cinematography is pleasant, especially in the first half. Editing could have been better.
There is an undercurrent plot running along with hot-headed cop track that of ignoring the family. The drama could be worked well in a different setup.
Did I enjoy it?
Will you recommend it?
Touch Chesi Chudu Review by Siddartha Toleti
– It’s all going down the drain, after the poor climax movie comes to an end. There is no solace in the second half as well. Visit back for our frank review shortly.
– Kartikeya (Ravi Teja) spoiling the antisocial riots in the old City action episode is poorly designed.
– The second half starts with a solid action episode of Kartikeya (Ravi Teja) saving his boss’s abducted daughter.
First Half Report:
Touch Chesi Chudu first half is very predictable with routine comedy and love track. There’s not even a single major highlight so far. Interval bang gives scope for a better engaging second half. Stay tuned for the second half report.
– After a solid action episode story turns engaging leading to interval.
– Nothing much happening interms of the story, the dated love track is fun in parts.

The long gap Ravi Teja took, proved to be beneficial as the Mass Maharaja was back with a bang with a commercial mass entertainer ‘Raja The Great’ that suits him the best. Of course, the blind factor added freshness along with the mass elements and entertainment factor.
Once again, Ravi Teja is coming up with another mass entertainer which looks routine but with fresh vibes. This is definitely a positive thread for the routine potboiler kind of story. Anyway, Ravi Teja is adept at adding a lot of energy to such mass entertainers.
‘Touch Chesi Chudu‘ is being helmed by a debut director, a writer turned director Vikram Sirikonda. Going by the trailer content and the glamour of the two heroines, it looks like the debut director has all the mass entertainment elements in the right place and in right proportions.
Will this routine entertainer score a big success? Will Mass Maharaja repeat his magic after his previous super hit? Will his attitude and style add the necessary spice and give us another movie to get entertained? Let’s see how this ‘Touch Chesi Chudu’ is going to satisfy critically?
