Chiyaan VikramWhat Is the Film About?
Sketch (Vikram) is a street-smart recovery agent who works diligently for his bosses. He would do anything for them. What happens when following one such order leads to catastrophic consequences? What is the incident and who is behind it? How does Sketch’s personal life gets affected by it is what the film is all about?

How Is Vikram’s Performance?
Vikram just breezes through his role with an ease that only he can. He does everything that can be expected from such a part to keep the audience hooked. It is repetitive in the mass variation of the star, but as he doesn’t do them often, it is a pleasant watch on screen. There is nothing to complaint on his side, except for maybe the age issue which might appear as problem narratively in few parts.

Director Vijay ChandarDirection by Vijay Chandar?
Director Vijay Chander has a straightforward film in hand that needed a sharper execution. He does the best, but the predictability aspect never lets the movie thoroughly engaging. We can see from miles where the film is headed to, and that’s where it suffers.

The first half of the movie is flat out boring with very few pleasant moments. It is only towards the interval part that one gets hooked on the proceedings with a mini car heist happening. The entire block is the best part.

The second half again takes a predictable turn of events. It is only towards the very end that we realise there is something else in the store. But it is very late at that time. First of all, there is a complete misleading up to that point, and secondly, everything that transpires before it and how it comes to an end leaves a very unsatisfied feeling.

The message, in the end, is good and some moments just show a glimpse of it in the narrative. However, as said above when it arrives at that point in the story it feels forced and just not right. It is like taking the audience for a ride up until that point. Overall, Sketch is a below average fare, the end notwithstanding.

Tamannaah BhatiaTamannaah Bhatia and Others?
Tamannah has a typical heroine role in the movie. However, she doesn’t go the dumb bimbo route which is good for a change. The gang of friends are well cast, and they all do their parts well. Baburaj as “Poorna Market Kumar” looks menacing but has nothing besides two powerful intro scenes. It is the same with Abhishek playing the cop with an attitude. Hareesh Peradi does his part well but is getting repetitive in those roles. The rest are fine.

Music Director ThamanMusic and Other Departments?
SS Thaman has given decent songs, but the background music is highly predictable and repetitive. The cinematography is fine, and so is the editing. The dialogues are weak.
