What Is the Film About?
Vikram Adithya (Naga Chaitanya) leads a happy life with love from family and girlfriend. It changes when an unexpected person enters into his life. Who is that and why is he after Vikram Adithya (Naga Chaitanya) is what the film is all about?
How Is Naga Chaitanya’s Performance?
Naga Chaitanya is fine in doing what he does well. There is nothing exceptional here. At the same time, there is absolutely no negative in any way. It is like he has reached a point where there is nothing new to show. Be it the romantic scenes or the action, we have seen him do everything before. Looking at the positive aspect here, Chaitu is improving the ease in doing the same routine. He is doing it with more confidence and it reflects on screen.
Direction by Chandoo Mondeti?
In his third outing director, Chandoo Mondeti has picked his most commercial mass entertainer. The same aspect also makes Savyasachi his weakest regarding the content. The storyline is highly predictable and wafer thin once one is past the basic concept.
As always, when handling a thin on story film, the screenplay has to be watertight and narrative highly engaging. The lack of story must not be apparent to the viewers. Exactly the opposite happens in the first half of the movie. The starting is alright and there are moments that are silly yet fun but the more the ‘entertainment’ gets prolonged, the more restlessness sets in. It reaches a patience-testing level before we finally get into the story around the pre-interval mark. The interval is neatly done.
The engaging narrative that we spoke about earlier finally arrives in the second half. Again, the story moves on a predictable path, but the proceedings make one forget that temporarily. The ‘entertainment’ breaks the flow in the second half as well. The ‘Subadra Parinayam’ followed by remix song makes one wonder what is happening even though they generate fun. It is only when we return to the main track that realization weak story dawns upon us.
Savyasachi is two movies rolled into one. It is as if the director has taken the Vanishing Twin Syndrome and applied it to his script. In Savyasachi we have two one hour movies merged into one and the output is not entirely satisfying as the deficiencies are easily felt. The love story lacks the warmth and the villainy misses the depth. The ending also feels a bit underwhelming after all the buildup.
Overall, Savyasachi is a below average fare. It could have been much more impactful had the villain motive and track been given more meat and depth and neatly placed in the narrative. Still, the movie offers a few moments of laughter, some tense scenes, and a couple of neatly choreographed action blocks. If that is enough, give it a try.
Niddhi Agerwal and Others?
Niddhi Agerwal making debut in Telugu cinema gets a decent role on paper. However, her performance is not up to the mark and at times she looks totally lost with no screen presence at all. The positive aspect is the dances where Niddhi seems to be enjoying without any inhibition. Madhavan is almost like a parallel lead only he enters during the second half in a real sense. He does his part well, but the impact is missing. It is a combination of predictable character traits and performance. There is no memorable moment and hence the character doesn’t stand out. Bhumika Chawla is wasted. Vennela Kishore, Sathya and Sudarshan handle the comedy with support by Shakalaka Shankar and Vidyuleka Raman at different parts. They are all okay. The rest of the cast have nothing much to do.
Music and Other Departments?
The music by MM Keeravani is a disappointment. Apart from the title track, there is nothing worthwhile. The remix was terrible. Luckily, he doesn’t let down with the background score. It is superb. The cinematography is decent. The editing could have been better as the movie doesn’t give the feel of a ‘whole’. The choreography of a couple of songs is good.

Final Report:
Savyasachi is a very routine revenge drama, overall. The left-hand syndrome is used to freshen up the narrative, but it is not effective. Visit back for our frank review soon.

First Half Report:
Savyasachi first half has nothing impressive. So far, the novelty factor left hand syndrome isn’t utilized much. The love track, comedy and songs are okay. Second half is very critical.
– Madhavan enters the scene and hints about the upcoming mind game with Naga Chaitanya. Interval.
– Naga Chaitanya and Nidhi back from US but gets a shocker. His brother in-law dies and his sister (Bhumika) gets severely injured. He realizes that his neice is still alive but kidnapped.
– Finally, Chitra (Nidhhi Agerwal) accepts Naga Chaitanya’s love after he explains why he had to suddenly disappears from her life.
– Naga Chaitanya as an Ad film maker is trying to impress Chitra again. After a quick Ad shoot, they move to US to shoot another Ad for Chitra (Nidhhi Agerwal).
– Naga Chaitanya falls in love with Nidhhi Agerwal quickly in college. Some college humor is being established with the help of Vennela Kishore. Vikram (Naga Chaitanya) suddenly disappears from Chitra’s life (reason not revealed).
– Rao Ramesh explains the twin syndrome and how Vikram Aditya ‘s (Naga Chaitanya) left hand acts differently without his control. Rao Ramesh explains the kid with this type of rare syndrome will be either dumb or extremely capable when he grows up.
– Savyasachi starts with a bus accident in Himachal Pradesh. Naga Chaitanya is one of the very few survivors of the accident.

Naga Chaitanya’s ‘Savyasachi‘ is coming after a moderately successful ‘Shailaja Reddy Alludu’. Though it is coming with less gap, the storyline of the movie has excited the audiences and there seems to be enough stuff to entertain the audiences.
Director Chandoo Mondeti is responsible for this credit as the story idea he presented through the teaser and the trailer has excited the audiences, enough. His track record is quite good with a super hit ‘Karthikeya’ and a decent hit ‘Premam’.
This is the second time combination of Chaitanya with Chandoo Mondeti. There are certain comfortable vibes between the two and one can clearly notice that Chaitanya is looking more handsome than before.
For Chaitanya, this film’s success will add to his credits as one of the best among the second league of heroes in the Telugu Film Industry. If he can continue the success streak for at least a couple of films, he will be a minimum guarantee bankable hero.
The advance bookings of the film are very good that gives a clarity on the interest of the audiences on the movie. As the release is big, there might be good openings, as well.
The vanishing twin syndrome is a concept that has excited the audiences and we have to see how the director has weaved an interesting and entertaining story around it. The rest of things will follow if the concept is received well.
