allu-arjun-sarrainodu-reviewWhat is the film about?
Dhanush is son of a state Chief Minister and he is a ruthless and fearless person who kills anyone if they don’t agree with him. Gana is a fearless person who fights for anything that he feels is right. How these characters get linked to each other and what happens in the end is what the film all about.

How is Allu Arjun’s performance?
Allu Arjun once again seems to be supremely enjoying the while process of acting in this mass entertainer. Although one might feel glimpses of body language seen in other hero’s it’s clear that it is that way due to the style of the director. Leaving aside that, Allu Arjun is fine and in fact carries the movie with his new mannerism. Whether it is working hundred percent or not, the fact that Allu Arjun is giving it all to the character and showing variation must be appreciated. In terms of dances there is nothing special.

boyapati-srinu-sarrainodu-reviewDirection By Boyapati Srinu?

This is a bread and butter kind of film for Boyapati Sreenu. What works for the film are his typical strengths, action and drama and what fails in the film are his typical weaknesses, comedy and youthfulness. Even the graph of the film is dreadfully similar to his previous films.

Sarrainodu begins interestingly and soon digresses into routine mundane. It continues that way with occasional punches working till the interval block. The all-important interval works and with it elevates the first half and develops interest in the second half.

The problem as always lies in the second half where things stagnate pretty soon with nothing exciting happening. The reason for this is extreme repetitiveness in proceedings with sequences that we have already seen many times. The attempt to freshly present it doesn’t work. The final nail of sorts is the resolution of the whole tussle between hero and villain. After such a heavy build up, what we get in the end is silly to put it politely.

Overall we have a film that follows formula to the T and delivers in parts. Even these aren’t what you would call ‘Paisa Vasool’ considering the mass film it is. They are just better bits in a large pie that is a disappointment as a whole.

rakul-preet-singh-sarrainodu-review Rakul Preet Singh, Catherine Tresa and others?
Going by the run time and importance of the characters in overall scheme of things one wonders who have better role, Rakul Preet Singh or Catherine Tresa? We lean towards the latter as at least she gets to play a different character than what we usually see a heroine play in big films. Rakul Preet Singh plays exactly that character and that’s why she loses to her. There is nothing to rave about either of the performances though. Aadi playing the negative character of Dhanush is chillingly presented. He deserved a better end.

Apart from them Srikanth has great deal of presence but it’s undermined by poorly written character. Jayaprakash as father of hero is good. Brahmanandam is decent although repetitive. Sai Kumar is alright. Annapurna is fine in her part but Vidyuraman goes way overboard. Rajiv Kanakala was brilliant in one scene he was given. Other actor’s fail to register even though the number is pretty high.

ss-thaman-sarrainodu-reviewMusic and other departments?
SS Thaman’s music is below par for a big budget mass action entertainer like this. Even the background score is let down. Cinematography is good. Editing should have been better. Dialogues are okay.

aadi-sarrainodu-reviewAlternative Take
Cutting down some silly comedy segments and in its place getting a couple of powerful confrontation scenes between the hero and villain. Also in the climax a resolution to the issue in a serious way.

Did I enjoy it?
Very few parts.

Will you recommend it?
Only to hardcore mass action movie lovers.
