Vikram - Saamy Telugu MovieWhat Is the Film About?
The fate draws Ramasamy (Vikram) son of Parasuram Saamy (Vikram) to Vijayawada as a police officer even though his grandparents do their best to avoid it. Why are they avoiding and what happens when Ramaswamy comes face to face with Ravana Bikshu (Bobby Simha) is what the film is all about?

How Is Vikram’s Performance?
Vikram is aged and the dubbing is loud, these are the problems that act as distractions in what is a calculated and loud over the top performance. Vikram is enjoying and it shows in the acting. He knows the pitch and goes according to it. Only if he has been given a good content as well, it would have been a worthwhile effort that could be remembered as the original Saamy.

Director HariDirection by Hari?
Hari has created a unique brand for himself as a director. He is known for his racy entertainers with some logical mumbo-jumbo thrown in to show intelligence within the over the top commercial setup. However, like everything when the same thing is done over and over again it becomes a formula and the director stars believing the hype around the formula and leaves the freshness that created the formula in first place.

The way Hari has gone about with his fast-paced screenplays watching his recent movies feels like a spoof to an originally intended movie on paper. There is no emotional connect at all at the superspeedway he goes about doing things. It has now started to dilute the elevation moments of the hero as well. Everything feels rushed and zooms past us at jet speed.

There are two ways to look at the movie. One is to compare it with Saamy and the second to see as a standalone mass entertainer. The former will make the film a huge disappointment as the entire character of Saamy and his attitude and twist to the police stereotype is missing. The latter is what the film is in essence. It is now a regular mass entertainer with a aggressive police in the lead. In fact, it could be passed off as fourth part in Singham series and nothing would change. Now, let’s look at Saamy strictly from a commercial entertainer point of view.

The entire first half of Saamy feels like a set up to the interval moment. Since it is done at 5x speed and so much is happening one gets a drained feeling at interval itself and we haven’t seen anything yet.

The second feels better largely due to the hero and villain conflict and them going at each other. We know what is going to happen but the director manages to surprise at a few points. Again the speed dilutes the impact.

Overall, the second half makes Saamy a passable mass entertainer which in the first place was entirely dedicated to them. If you are a mass movie lover, give it a try.

Keerthy SureshKeerthy suresh and Others?
Keerthy Suresh has a typical heroine falling for the hero kind of role. It is alright and she does her part well. Aishwarya Rajesh has a very small part. The real highlight apart from Vikram is Bobby Simha. He is also in over action zone but does it with great precision. He never looks weak in front of Vikram. The dubbing in Telugu is neatly done for the character. Prabhu is neat in a small but side role. Soori is entertaining in a predictable way. It adds to the length but that feels necessary looking at the story. The rest are alright in their small parts.

Music Director Devi Sri PrasadMusic and Other Departments?
Devi Sri Prasad’s music is below par. He makes up with the background score which is comparatively better. The cinematography is decent at best. Editing is okay. The writing could have been better.

The black money trail segment could have been extended and neatly integrated into the narrative or the fireworks factory explosion track instead of them being small blocks in the overall narrative.
