Sumanth Ashwin - Prema Katha Chitram 2 ReviewWhat Is the Film About?
Bindu ( Siddhi Idnani) falls in love with Sudheer (Sumanth Ashwin) and takes extreme action when he doesn’t reciprocate. Meanwhile, Nandu (Nanditha Swetha), the actual lover of Sudheer starts to act strangely when they plan to meet at a farmhouse. What is happening at the farmhouse and why is it happening that way is what the film is all about?

How Is Sumanth Ashwin’s Performance?
Sumanth Ashwin is alright as long as he doesn’t speak and act cool like a lover boy. Not that he is convincing doing it, but it makes one feel less miserable compared to what he does otherwise while trying to act. The climax portion, which is a total rip off of a legendary act from The Shining is a joke on the audience. Overall, the sooner he forgets that a film like this exists the better.

Direction by Hari Kishan?
Hari Kishan has a difficult task in his hand with Prema Katha Chitram 2. Not only is the story wafer thin lacking any freshness, but the locations are also limited, and everything has to rely on a tight screenplay. The director fails spectacularly in getting an engaging outing with the setup in his hand.

The movie is predictable from start to end. Within the predictable premise, the beginning is terrible, and nothing seems to happen for a long time. It is only towards the interval that little progress happens sans any repetitiveness.

However, soon after the interval, things are back to square one and on a much worse level. Nothing seems to happen organically, and artificiality too reaches a new level. The various Hollywood inspirations make the overall effort even worse than it actually looks. It doesn’t come as a surprise then that the characters itself sprout many times – ‘what the hell is happening?’ It is that bad.

The climax shows there was a little potential, once we get to know what the movie was all about. But, the fact that we come to know about that, at the very end, that itself is self-explanatory as to why the movie fails. The direction is abysmally bad in these sequences which further give a compelling reason to the viewer to make a move to the exit long before the movie end credits roll. It is another matter that the half of the one percent audience inside the cinemas might have made a similar move at the interval itself.

Nandita Swetha -Prema Katha Chitram 2- ReviewNandita Swetha and Others?
Nanditha Swetha hams like there is no tomorrow. It seems like the DVD’s of old movies of similar genre flicks have been given to her to copy the body language and small gestures. She mixes them all and goes way over the top. Siddhi Idnani doesn’t offer that impression simply because her role doesn’t get that far. Vidyullekha Raman gets a scene to stand out among the crowd. The other actor despite so much screen time feels like a wasted opportunity.

Music Director Jeevan BabuMusic and Other Departments?
JB aka Jeevan Babu has given decent music, keeping the production in mind. The background score is useful but is highly derivative. The cinematography and editing are poor. The writing is terrible and gives unintentional laughs at many points.

Siddhi Idnani - Prema Katha Chitram 2 ReviewAlternative Take
The first half of the movie needs a total revamp, in tune with the climax of the film. Also, better casting with right comedy timing is a much-needed requirement.
