Naga Chaitanya in Oka Laila Kosam review
What is the film about?
Karthik (Naga Chaitanya) loves Nandu (Pooja Hegde) at the first sight. Nandu’s first impressions on Karthik are not good and it continues in that vein. Fate brings them together but Nandu has no love for Karthik. How Karthik and Nandu come together and how Karthik wins Nandu is what the film is all about.

How is Naga Chaithanya’s performance?
It is pretty obvious that Naga Chaitanya is at ease doing the light hearted romantic stuff. The actor looks charming and is very comfortable doing the feel good portions that doesn’t require him to be extremely melodramatic. His showcases energy in dances and that’s the best that can be said. Overall he is in his safe zone as far as performance is concerned without having anything sticking out like sore thumb when he does mass ventures.

Vijay Kumar Konda in Oka Laila Kosam review
Direction By Vijay Kumar Konda?
Vijay Kumar Konda takes long time to come up with a new film after Gunde Jari Gallanthayyinde. Once again he tries to bring is a fresh perspective in stale love genre. This time the writing isn’t as strong like it was in his previous film and this shows effect on overall proceedings of the film. So much of the film feels repetitive and due to length it feels like ages before we reach to the expected conclusion. He loses the grip especially in the second half of the film. The climax is decent but by the time one reaches that a restlessness creeps in which nullifies whatever little good the climax has.

Pooja Hegde in Oka Laila Kosam review
Pooja Hegde and others performance?
Pooja Hegde was earlier seen in the dubbed film Mask where she played a bullying rough and tough character. This is definitely a contrast as far as character is concerned but her acting remains the same. She is poor at emotions but the good looks make up for it. Suman and Sayaji Shinde do their regular acts. So does Sudha and other female artists who are usually seen as part of a family crowd. It is unfortunate that someone like Rohini too is wasted as part of this crowd. After the main leads it is comedian Ali who shines the most in the film. More than his performance, which is fine, his character design drives all the fun. Madhu is okay.

Anup Rubens in Oka Laila Kosam review
Music by Anup Rubens and other departments?
Music director Anup Rubens has done his part with all sincerity. Both the music and the background score are good. Choreography of songs is routine. Cinematography is good overall but there are parts which appear patchy. Editor should have been ruthless and cut a lot of repetitive stuff. Dialogues are a mixed max with some one-liners working. The important dialogues haven’t come out as well as they should have been to create an impact

Box Office talk of Oka Laila Kosam review
Alternative take:
The story of the film, especially keeping the climax of the film in mind is good enough to provide an engaging film. However the course of the film, especially the second half should, reaching towards that final need to be rewritten all over again. Current version looks like a rough draft without any real thought behind it.

Did I enjoy it?
Yes, in parts, especially first half.

Will you recommend it?
Yes, but with lots of apprehension.
