Avasarala Srinivas - Nootokka Jillala Andagadu Movie ReviewWhat Is the Film About?
GSN (Srinivas Avasarala) and Anjali (Ruhani Sharma) work at a real estate firm. They soon develop a relationship, and everything seems to go fine until one day, the bald secret of GSN is out. How it affects their relationship? What happens to the couple at the end is the basic plot of the movie.

How Is Avasarala Srinivas’s Performance?
Srinivas Avasarala playing the lead is perfect for the part. He has that vulnerability to make one engage with the character. A few finer details in internal dejection and low confidence are subtly conveyed. However, Srinivas Avasarala fails to take the role to the next level. He hasn’t done anything terrible, but at the same time, there is nothing exceptional that would make GSN different from the other roles he has done in the past. Only the issue at hand is different; that’s it.

rachakonda vidyasagarAnalysis ?
Rachakonda Vidyasagar directs Nootokka Jillala Andagadu. It is a straightforward premise of a guy coming to terms with his insecurities. Here the issues arise of the baldness.

Films with a similar theme, not necessary baldness, require terrific writing. One has to be entirely immersed in the world and connect with the protagonist and his problem personally. In the case of Nootokka Jillala Andagadu, the ‘issue’ is readily available via the baldness aspect. It is a very relatable thing.

However, the script doesn’t deliver proper emotion or fun with the core issue at hand. The entire opening stretch is flat and uninteresting. The relationship building and establishing of the world and characters are done ordinarily. The narrative comes across as dull and boring pretty soon.

The proceedings get to a somewhat passable level after more than half an hour has passed. There are few jokes here and there that work, and slowly an undercurrent tension starts to build. Again, this is nothing big, but compared to the mundane opening, there is some momentum.

The interval sequence is alright. It is not rip-roaringly funny but is okay. The subtle and causal approach with comedy and drama doesn’t always deliver the required impact. We have a prime example with Nootokka Jillala Andagadu.

The second half is more dramatic compared to the first. Again, it is not very heavy or too emotional. Everything is done understatedly. The writing, again, works in parts only. The lack of solid conflict is what makes the narrative weak more than anything.

A subplot involving the parents is built, which slowly moves towards a predictable end. The realisation via other character’s intervention is all very formulaic. But, that is expected given the theme of coming of age. However, the way it reaches that point and then ends in a simple way is disappointing. It reeks of laziness and lack of effort in getting to the true potential of the drama.

The climax, therefore, doesn’t give the required emotional high. It is par for course given what has preceded it. An overwhelming feeling of growing up is shown, but it is never felt as an audience, and that’s the biggest failure of the movie.

Overall, Notokka Jillala Andagadu may have its heart in the right place and a relatable theme, but the flat narrative and the emotionless script make it a dull watch. It has few passable moments’ courtesy of the writing, but they are few and don’t change the final impact, which is a strictly middling affair.

Ruhani Sharma - Nootokka Jillala Andagadu Movie Review Ruhani Sharma & Others?
Ruhani Sharma looks lovely playing an urban girl. She has the charm required for the part, but that’s it. We don’t see her part of any real drama. For a long time, the narrative sticks with limited characters, mainly the lead pair. And yet, Ruhani lacks the impact to make it memorable. There are a few notable faces like Rohini, Ramana Bharadwaj, but they don’t have much to do. They are adequate in their limited appearances, though.

Music Director shakthikanth karthickMusic and Other Departments?
The music by Shakthikanth Karthik is forgettable even though it sounds nice and gives a contemporary vibe. It is the same with the background score. They should have been better. The cinematography by Raam is alight. Some scenes are well shot, but overall consistency is missing. The editing by Kiran Ganti could be a little better. The narrative should have been sharper. The writing works in parts. It has the trademark Srinivas Avasarala mark, but it isn’t up to the level of his past works.

Increasing the fun quotient with sharp writing and fleshing out a couple of supporting roles (friend’s character) would have elevated Nootokka Jillala Andagadu from his current dull state.
