Dhanush Nava Manmadhudu Movie ReviewWhat is the film about?
Nava Manmadhudu is the story of a regular boy next door named Bharath. What happens in his life before and after the marriage? What are the troubles he faced is what the film is all about.

How is Dhanush’s performance?
This is Dhanush’s bread and butter territory and he doesn’t disappoint. He goes through the two difference phases with great ease and oozing confidence. The only problem here is the repetitiveness as we have seen the actor play similar parts many times.

Velraj Nava Manmadhudu Movie ReviewDirection By Velraj?
Velraj is a cameraman who made his debut with the film Raghuvaran BTech. His second attempt reminds of his debut effort from the first scene, no wonder Nava Manmadhudu was projected as a sequel to the director’s debut all throughout the making of the film.

First half of the film is breezy till a crucial development takes places between the characters of Dhanush and Amy Jackson. From here on the film loses its zing despite best efforts by Samantha and Dhanush pair. In the second half the film moves on a completely different tangent compared to the first. It’s as if watching a whole new film altogether. The problem faced by the hero and its solution are as contrived as they come. It continues that will till the end with absolutely nothing redeemable in narrative terms.

Samantha Nava Manmadhudu Movie ReviewSamantha, Amy Jackson and others?
Samantha and Amy Jackson are more often than not used only for glamour quotient in Telugu films, here they get chance to emote for a change. Both have few scenes where acting is required and they give it the best they can and thus making things work. Besides them there is Radhika playing the role of an old housewife. She does it with great ease. Director KS Ravikumar who loves to make cameos his films gets a bigger role for a change. He does his part neatly. Satish playing side kick to hero was good. Others suited the role but there was nothing impactful.

Anirudh Nava Manmadhudu Movie ReviewMusic and other departments?
Music by Anirudh Ravichandar is very good. The background score is a mixed bag with it being good in emotional scenes. Editing could have been better especially in the second half. Cinematography is fine. Songs are choreographed neatly into the narrative without acting as speed breakers.

Drawbacks Nava Manmadhudu Movie ReviewAlternative Take
Instead of setting the robbery route and dishonor angle on a silly foundation, the makers should have taken the illness route for the father character and brought more ‘realistic’ plausible drama into the play.

Did I enjoy it?
Yes, the first half.

Will you recommend it?
Only the first half.
