What is the film about?
Sooraj(Sundeep Kishan) and Nithya (Amyra) are childhood friends. Everyone except them knows they are in love. How and when Sooraj and Nithya realise they are in love and accept it is what the film is all about?
How is Sundeep Kishan’s performance?
Sundeep Kishan gets a role that suits him perfectly. He plays it with ease and performs the emotional scenes well. More than the crying scenes, the actor scores well during the frustration scene in the first half.
Direction By Manjula Ghattamaneni?
Manjula has picked a straightforward tale for her directorial debut. The problem is not the simplicity. It is the content and the presentation. The material is a decade too late, and the package lacks the freshness of the current times. With the backdrop chosen, the maker really had the scope for dazzling visuals, and a lot of fun, but that is not what we get.
There is an air of predictability right from the beginning, and it continues that way until the end. The emotional turns are done to death. That is where crispy and fresh vibe generating writing needs to come in hand, alas, Manasuki Nachindi entirely misses the bus on that count.
Still, despite all the routineness on display, there are moments which gives an okay feeling, and that is because of the background music and at least sincere looking act put in by the leads. You know where the movie is headed to, and how it is going to reach that point, and there is no effort visible to mask that predictability. That’s the biggest issue with the film and why it gets so annoying and tiring to watch it.
Amyra Dastur and others?
Amyra Dastur and Tridha Choudhary do their best to act, and it is restricted mostly to crying. When there is no connect, no matter how hard they try, it doesn’t make an impact. As usual, Sanjay Swarup enjoys his bits, in whatever little he gets. Nassar is alright. Priyadarshi fails to make an impression. Punarnavi Bhupalan is okay. The rest are so-so.
Music and other departments?
Music by Radhan is decent. The background score is excellent. The cinematography is neat in parts. Editing is superb. Sai Madhav Burra is credited with writing, but we don’t get an impression of his usual work. It is good in a way to not have that repetition of similar style only if the fresh writing is also up to that level.

Well, watch Socha Na Tha, the directorial debut of Imtiaz Ali, which has a similar story premise.
