What is the film about?Majnu Review Script
A boy (Nani) thinks he is in love with a girl (Priya Sri) . He opens to her (Priya Sri) about his past and narrates the first love (Anu Emmanuel) he had and realizes he actually loves the girl (Anu Emmanuel) he loved first and not the current one. How will he convince the current love about true love and manage to win the real love, in the end, is what the film is all about.
How is Nani’s performance?Majnu Movie Review Script
Nani once again shows why he is called a Natural Star with a pleasant outing again. He is completely at ease as he has done similar roles in many of his films. However one can observe and feel there is a growth in him as a star where he is able to carry effortlessly, a weak story. One doesn’t mind the repetition in act as long as he manages to entertain on screen. It’s a big plus for him but a minus as far as the film’s narrative is concerned.
Direction By Virinchi Varma? Majnu Review Directorial Dept
Director Virinchi Varma made debut with the sensational film Uyyala Jumpala. It was a small film but was a massive success. The reason for the success was freshness of the characterizations and dialogues along with the set up more than the actual story which was predictable. With Majnu the director has repeated the same thing.
The story of the film is weak which means to engage the audience either there have to be strong characters or lovely and memorable moments. He fails in offering strong characters but manages to present lively and fresh moments mostly.The first half of the film is a breezy entertainer with lots of fun moments between the lead pair. There chemistry and music, keeps one engaged.
The problem starts in the second half when the director has to get into the story as he runs out of the fresh moments. The film drags, predictable emotions take over and it all ends in a cliché no matter how hard the director tries to infuse life through fun. It feels forced and doesn’t develop as organically as the first half. Overall the film is a decent fun outing if one doesn’t mind a lackluster second half. Basically, the film lacks the emotional depth the first attempt from the director had, in spite of all the lighter moments it presented.
Anu Emanuel and others?
Anu Emmanuel makes a strong debut with the film in Telugu. She shows spark and is successful in developing good chemistry with the lead hero which is the most important thing for a film like this to be bearable at the minimum. Priya Sri has very little to do in comparison and it’s a typical side heroine character that offers nothing in the first place. Sathya is decent as hero’s loyal friend and Vennela Kishore in hilarious in the few scenes he is present in. Apart from them, none make an impact including Sapthagiri who is criminally underutilized.Even Posani Krishna Murali doesn’t have much to do. Raj Tharun and SS Rajamouli’s cameos were neatly done.

Music by Gopi Sunder is good and so the background score. Cinematography is neat in parts. Editing is alright. Dialogues are good.
