Krishnashtami-ReviewWhat is the film about?
Krishna (Sunil) keeps others problems before him always and this quality leads him to unexpected troubles. What is the problems and how he overcomes it what the film about.

How is Sunil’s performance?
Sunil is without any doubt a fantastic performer who can hold audience attention with his presence and antics. This was as a comedian and he brought this quality to play as full fledged hero as well. However he retained that comedic innocent that made him the star comedian in first place. For the first time in Krishnastami watching Sunil it feels like a hero is acting without that comedian getting in the way. The result is there is a feeling of dullness despite best efforts. Sunil goes through the motions of a star with little of his usual energetic presence. It becomes impossible to stay connected with him after a point due to this act. His looks doesn’t help either.

Krishnashtami-ReviewDirection By Vasu Varma?
After Josh, director Vasu Varma makes comeback with Krishnastami. He showed promise with his debut and continues it here as well with his direction. Still there is a feeling of something amiss. It is the predictable narrative of the film. There is no tension even though individual scenes are executed neatly. The attack scene in first half is an example of this quality. It’s the script that completely let’s him down. The film gets progressively worse and ends on a disappointing note.

Krishnashtami-ReviewDimple Chopade, Nikki and others?
Nikki Galrani has very little to perform. It’s mostly a one dimensional act with glamour show in songs. Among other cast Aushutosh Rana gets a decent role and he is fine although repetitive. Pavitra Lokesh is good as usual. Mukesh Rishi is seen in another positive role which he does with ease. Comedy is handled mostly by Sapthagiri who looks controlled in parts. Prudhvi is wasted in small role and so is Brahmanandam. Posani Krishna Murali has better part in comparison to them. Ajay gets a small but extremely classy role and he looked superb in that very small time.

Krishnashtami-ReviewMusic and other departments?
Music by Dinesh is poor and so is background score which lacks any life. Cinematography is decent. Editing is alright. Choreography of songs should have been better. Dialogues are passable. Production values are okay.

Krishnashtami-ReviewAlternative Take
It’s a predictable story that was narrated with neat little twists till the makers decided to go beaten to death confusion comedy route. Alternative take would be avoiding this pitfall.
