Raghava Lawrence -Kanchana 3 REviewWhat Is the Film About?
It is the same old story where Raghava (Raghava Lawrence) and his family are haunted by different ghosts initially. Later Raghava is possessed by those ghosts only to reveal their past and reason of death. It all ends with the spirit (s) taking revenge via Raghava.

How Is Lawrence’s Performance?
Raghava Lawrence just sleepwalks through the entire film, of course enjoying all the attention of the female cast in the process. There is nothing new that he does here that he has not done in the past films of the series. Raghava Lawrence has actually done better, to be honest.

Director Raghava Lawrence -Kanchana 3 REviewDirection by Lawrence?
One can say without an iota of doubt that Raghava Lawrence is a good director within the mass terrain. The stories have been his problem, but he has always managed to engage with fast-paced screenplays. Kanchana 3 is no different.

The first half of the movie moves like a breeze. One gag keeps coming after the other without any lag. We know what is in store, but the pace at which it happens and the low brow thrills that are on offer do work well at what they aim to achieve. There are cheap thrills and laughs to be had. Yes, there is nothing new, yet it works.

But, here is the thing, even on the routine terrain, there needs to be something fresh. It should be the gags or the core story or the presentations. It is on this count that Raghava Lawrence fails. This would be the fourth film in the same format if one were to start with Muni. The repetitiveness and formula can be seen from miles away. Once the silly comedy is over, and we get to the core story in the second half everything falls apart.

By the time we reach the climax, all the interest is evaporated. In short, it is a free fall in the second half with each progressing block being weaker than the one before. If you have seen any of the previous Kanchana movies, do yourself a favour, forget this.

Vedhika Kanchana 3 Movie ReviewOviya, Vedhika and Others?
Vedhika and Oviya are the heroines in the movie for namesake. They do nothing but act scared and hug and kiss the hero and overacting to the top along the way. They are the dumbest written roles for heroines in recent times. The rest are comic support roles played with high energy by Kovai Sarala, Sriman, and Devadarshini. They do manage to provide some laughs. Tarun Arora and Kabir Duhan Singh play the standard villain part like they have done a million times before.

music-director-reviewMusic and Other Departments?
There is nothing concerning the music to talk about except the background score provided by SS Thaman. It is deafening and is headache inducing. The cinematography and editing are poor. Not much was expected from the former, but the later could have done a decent job. The writing is low brow overall, and the dubbing misses sync at many times.

Oviya - Kanchana Movie ReviewAlternative Take
At this point, it feels like a waste of time doing further films in this series. The alternative take, not for the film, but, for Raghava Lawrence would be to do something different as director next time around as he can execute mass films on a big scale.
