Bellamkonda-SrinivasWhat Is the Film About?
Sweety (Rakul Preet Singh) loves Gagan but her father doesn’t approve of her choice. Gagan accepts the decision and moves on. What happens when Gagan meets Sweety again in Vizag? How their story ends and who are the real villains, is what the film is all about?

How Is Bellamkonda Sreenivas’s Performance?
There is a dialogue in the movie where the character of Rakul Preet Singh says to hero, don’t you have any other expression? It pretty much sums up Srinivas’s acting in Jaya Janaki Nayaka. He is expressionless and the only muscles that flex in his body is that of arms. Apart from fighting and dancing, there is nothing to talk about the actor.

Director-Boyapati-SrinuDirection by Boyapati Srinu?
Boyapati Srinu is a formulaic director and what makes him tick is the strong direction of the predictable formula with a gripping screenplay. All of those ingredients are present in Jaya Janaki Nayaka as well. The movie has a routine story but the director manages to engage with his directorial talents. There is an inherent style embedded in the making which makes action and visuals pleasing to watch on screen.

The first half of the movie is pretty thin in terms of story. Lots of time is used to introduce important characters with elaborate sequences. Some of them are effective which negates other issues. The interval bang is shot well though one can predict it coming miles away.

In the second half of the movie, all the emotions are stored. One by one they come out with proper action scenes blended in between. The problem is not the screenplay or action blocks, it is the lead hero who is as bland as they come. The fun that is supposed to generate in action or in regular scenes are missing due to the weak hero. Without fun and real believable emotions, no matter how hard the director tries, one is not entirely invested in the proceedings. That is the major problem with the movie. The climax is neat and short. Overall, if one doesn’t mind the hero, Jaya Janaki Nayaka is a decent one time watch for action movie lovers.

Rakul-Preet-singh-Rakul Preeth and Others?
Rakul Preet Singh shines as a performer in the movie. It is a regular commercial entertainer which usually has little to no scope for heroines but since we have an incapable to emote hero, she gets to shine in a role that gives her scope to act. Jagapathi Babu is good like he is usually. But his act is getting repetitive for sure. Tarun Arora is alright. The duo of Sharath Kumar and Nandu as father and son are good. The senior actor is given a worthy part. Suman is wasted. Pragya Jaiswal appears briefly but leaves no mark. Sithara and Vani Vishwanath add nothing to the proceedings.

Music-Director-Devi-Sri-PrasadMusic and Other Departments?
Devi Sri Prasad‘s music is ordinary. The background score is comparatively better. The cinematography is excellent. It gives the movie very rich look. Editing could have been better. Dialogues are par for course.

SarathkumarAlternative Take
Given the predictable storyline, the director has done his best. An alternative would be to get a new lead with lots of screen presence.

Jaya Janaki Nayaka Review, Jaya Janaki Nayaka Movie Review, Ratings

Final Report:

Jaya Janaki Nayaka second half has loads of action and ton of sentiment. Rakul did her part like in director’s previous film, but needs a hero who can equally emote. Lot of blocks remind us Boyapati’s previous film. Overall Jaya Janaki Nayaka is just another routine flick. Watch out for our review shortly here.

– Boyapti’s much advertised Hamsaladeevi water fight is good. He does a Rajamouli act here. Hero Bellamkonda Srinivas cuts the villian head reminds us the Baahubali part one popular head cut shot. Boyapti does this in his mass style here, it’s slick.

First Half Report:

Jaya Janaki Nayaka has passable first half with a routine story so far. Interval twist is interesting. But no Boyapati mark high moments so far. Let’s wait for the second half.

– Show started with Boyapati signature dialogue ..Shot ready.. Action.

Preview: Jaya Janaki Nayaka

The title of the movie ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka‘ has raised curiosity because it is not the typical Boyapati Srinivas’ kind of title with a mass appeal. The posters and other promotional material also gave a similar vibe.

Coming from Boyapati who scored two back to back blockbusters in the name of ‘Legend’ and ‘Sarrainodu’, his credibility had earned big price before the release. This is something very good for the movie made with a decent budget.

The main buzz of the movie is because of the director. So, it is the virtue of the director that would pull the crowds to the theatres. Now comes the hero Bellamkonda Srinivas with a succesful big debut ‘Alludu Seenu’ helmed by VV Vinayak followed by a disaster ‘Speedunnodu’ directed by an outdated director.

To be frank, he is banking on Boyapati Srinivas‘ name but he had to struggle to get decent number of theatres. The number of theatres were distributed between ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri’, ‘Lie’ and ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’. Will this factor affect the opening collections?

Like Bellamkonda Srinivas got popular actors and technicians for his debut movie, he has top heroine Rakul Preet Singh playing the female lead. She would be a big help for him only if Boyapati has something very intriguing to deliver.

There is one more big name attached to this movie and that is music director Devisri Prasad. His previous collaborations with Boyapati had been successful and the tunes he delivered for this movie are okay and there is a lot of anticipation on the re-recording.

Will all the above said big names and talents translate into a big hit for Bellamkonda Srinivas? Will this film give him an identity of his own and make audiences own him as an actor to look forward to?

Are you eager to know how Boyapati will stand this hero in the big face off amidst Rana’s NRNM and Nithin’s ‘Lie’? Simple. Wait for our comprehensive Jaya Janaki Nayaka review, coming soon from mirchi9 team.
