What is the film about?
The film is about a hot-headed, over patriotic ex Indian army officer, played by Salman Khan, who likes to jump to help people in trouble. It’s a tested-and-proven format of storytelling that portrays Salman as an angel with the looks of a superstar.

How is Salman Khan’s performance?
Salman was as usual at his best playing his role with ease. Although the film is a remake of Chiranjeevi-starrer “Stalin”, we don’t see Salman ever emulate Chiranjeevi even for a nanosecond. In his own style, most loved by the masses, Salman delivers a neat performance. While some may call it clichéd but that’s precisely what his fans want to see from him.

Jai Ho ReviewWhat about Sohail Khan’s direction?
Made in the signature style of all recent Salman Khan films, “Jai Ho” by Salman’s brother Sohail Khan, is more or less a frame-to-frame copy of the original. You replace Chiranjeevi with Salman, and add more mass-appealing moments such as stunts and lines, we have this film. One can’t blame Sohail Khan because he has tried to portray his brother in the most appropriate fashion, and he succeeds at it.

daisyOther artists performance?
It’s a Salman Khan film, and, therefore, one can’t expect too much from other actors because they are mostly used just to fill in the shoes of the characters. Both Sana Khan and Daisy Shah are miscast for the roles, while veteran actor Danny was pretty convincing in his role. Tabu turns in a equally good performance as Salman’s sister, and so does Suniel Shetty in a cameo.

Jai Ho Review, DSPHow is Music, Songs and other departments?
When you’re dissecting a Salman Khan film, please understand that everything is done to cater to the masses. It’s not for the multiplex audience or the A centre audience, but it’s precisely aimed at the masses of smaller towns. If you were to keep them in mind, the music is enjoyable. ‘Naacho Re’ by Devi Sri Prasad and ‘Baaki Sab First Class Hain’ are two songs that stand out with their catchy tunes. The title track ‘Jai Ho’ is equally good.

sana-khanWhat about the box office performance of the film?
After the success of ‘Krrish 3’ and ‘Dhoom 3’, Salman’s ‘Jai Ho’ is released with the hope that it will supersede both the film at the ticket window. Having released in over 5000 screens worldwide, it is bound to take a huge opening. A Salman Khan film need not be good to make money, if marketed intelligently even a bad film can rake in the moolah.

Did I enjoy it?
Yes.

Will you recommend it?
