Sumanth AshwinWhat Is the Film About?
Happy Wedding tracks the journey of a confused girl Akshara (Niharika) right from the fixture of marriage to the D-Day. She has doubts regarding marriage, what decision she takes in the end, is what the movie is all about?

How Is Sumanth Ashwin’s Performance?
Sumanth Ashwin plays a role that is close to his age and would suit his personality. The actor tries his best to be cool and casual, but he overacts most of the time. He is good when he is a bit restrained. Still, a big screen presence is missing that could elevate his scenes and the story.

Director Lakshman KaryaDirection by Lakshman Karya ?
Lakshman Karya has picked an interesting segment and psychological condition that is identifiable among females, mostly. The relatable character is the backbone of the movie in which the entire narrative rests. The story otherwise is extremely predictable.

It is also due to the ‘character’ the proceedings might be hard to connect. The confused and stubborn attitude along with an entitled feeling leads to a very identifiable and easy to hate the character. As an audience one gets irritated with the lack of progress some decisions taken by Akshara. The irritation can easily spill on to the narrative, but the director manages to effectively show the difference. It is also the reason why the pre-climax works because the entire frustration that has been built up until then finds a let out in the hero character.

However, despite an engaging premise Happy Wedding fails to connect entirely. Both the halves are filled with boring moments, and it has a lot to do with writing, which is weak. To many, it might seem like a third world problem basically, but it cannot be denied that the problem exists. It needs a better writing skill to make such character work along with performances. The songs and background along with a few moments make Happy Wedding a decent watch, if one overlooks the weak writing.

Niharika KonidelaNiharika and Others?
Niharika has got another author-backed role and her performance is essential for the movie to work. It is a mixed bag with her acting though. It appears mostly one dimensional and fails at the very critical moment. The failure here is not living up to the moment and taking the given content a notch higher. The climax was hers and she was okay, in it. The rest of the cast is filled with artists that we usually see in family dramas and are extremely familiar faces. Murali Sharma, Pavithra Lokesh, Naresh, and others do their parts with clinical precision. Senior actress Annapurna and Indraja get more lovable characters and they get it right.

Music Director - Shakthikanth KarthickMusic and Other Departments?
The music by Shaktikanth Karthik is superb and along with the background, score add a nice feel to the movie. The cinematography is decent and the editing is alright. The writing is childish and surface level mostly. It was the most essential aspect for the movie to work, but the director, who also doubles up as writer fails here.

NareshHighlights?
Identifiable characterizations
Music and BGM
Pre-climax

Drawbacks?
Lack of connect
Hero
Weak writing

Pavitra LokeshAlternative Take
A better hero who is able to develop the chemistry and show it the way the character is written would make the film entirely different.

Did I Enjoy It?

Final Report:

Happy Wedding comes with a not so strong conflict point, turns preachy and slow at times. Well written dialogues and the family bonding scenes by the senior cast are the highlight. Visit back for the detailed review shortly.

– Akshara’s family comes to know the truth. Climax turns over sentimental and preachy.

– It is almost wedding time but Akshara’s confusion continues on her marriage with Anand.

– 15 days left for the wedding, both side parents aren’t aware of the issue between Anand and Akshara.

– Happy Wedding second half started. Anand takes Akshara’s break up proposal sportive and hopeful to convince her.

First Half Report:

Happy Wedding first half is alright. First half has some nice written dialogues and feel good moments but turns slow at times. Though it’s a decent interval bang, the conflict point is weak.

– Interval bang on Akshara’s confusion between Anand and Vijay.

– Akshara’s exboy friend Vijay is back in her life. She treats him as a friend while she carries some confusion on her marriage with Anand.

– Akshara is little concerned that her marriage is happening so quickly after she fell in love. On the other hand, she has moved on from another relationship with Vijay which is yet to show.

– Anand is in love with Akshara who is known as a confusion cutie. Both families are discussing their marriage.

– Happy Wedding show started. Anand (Sumanth Ashwin) takes us back to his flash back love story with Akshara (Niharika).

Preview: Happy Wedding

‘Happy Wedding’ is mega daughter Niharika Konidela’s second venture as an actress and she is hoping the big way to score a decent hit, the least. When her movie is backed up by the big production house ‘UV Creations’, there is certainly hope.

Audiences can expect a good quality product and an intriguing content from the production house. The makers provided the much-needed push to ‘Happy Wedding‘ through the pre-release event, promo material and publicity activities. Niharika and Sumanth Ashwin is a fresh pairing and we are hoping to watch a breezy love story.

Even the tunes of the film delivered by Shakthikanth Karthick had turned out to be decent. The grand visuals with the production values might help the movie if the content turns out to be good. Besides the tunes, Thaman had delivered the background music and that might also add if the content of the movie is decent.

If the movie succeeds in satisfying the target audiences (youth), a good word of mouth will help the movie. With ‘Saakshyam’ getting the mixed talk, even an initial decent talk, ‘Happy Wedding’ will turn out to be a happy venture for both Niharika and Sumanth Ashwin. It’s time to know if director Lakshman Karya had delivered a successful movie or not.

Stay tuned for M9News ‘Happy Wedding’ review. We’ll get back to you shortly.
