Venkatesh -f2 - fun frustration ReviewWhat Is the Film About?
It is a simple and routine story about every married couple. What are the fun and frustration underwent by a couple and how to lead a happy life avoiding troubles is shown in a funny manner?

How Is Venkatesh’s Performance?
Venkatesh, the senior star is back after a long gap. He is seen playing a henpecked husband to perfection. The comic timing brings back the vintage Venky in free-flowing form. It is an absolute delight and totally dominates the co-actor.

Varun Tej is alright. Only the accent hare is changed to Telangana style, otherwise, he is the same as usual.

Director Anil RavipudiDirection by Anil Ravipudi?
After three successful films, director Anil Ravipudi is back with his fourth outing F2 (Fun N Frustration). The plot of the movie, much like his earlier ones is predictable and straightforward. In fact, story-wise it might be his weakest. And still, Anil Ravipudi is able to make one sit until the end in spite of the apparent shortfall.

Anil Ravipudi has further shown his growth regarding the direction in F2. The narrative as long as its good is seamless and his ‘items’ are neatly blended into the narrative without sticking out. This is, in short, the first half of the movie where Venkatesh and Anil Ravipudi’s writing create a riot comedy wise and one never feels the lack of story or the other issues related to the narrative.

The problem is in the second half where the story ceases to exist. It could be ended within minutes of the start of the second half. So when Anil Ravipudi persists with his ‘items’ narrative, they are not only sticking out but also appear to inserted into the story to keep the entertainment flow. The emotional engagement to the core plot, however, simple it is, is missing entirely due to this inorganic fitting. We had mentioned the same issue in our Raja The Great review that the lesser the story, the more obvious the blocks would be visible. What we get, as a result, is a hallowed and laborious content to reach to the predictable climax which is again a disappointment. The solution to this problem is clear, have a better story that offers scope for integrated “item” development into the screenplay.

Overall, the hilarious first half is a perfect time pass material in itself. But, the second half disappoints which makes us slightly unsatisfied in the end. Still, the comedy is fresh, and one shouldn’t mind it for viewing at all if one is starved for comedy entertainer.

Tamanna -f2 - fun frustration ReviewTamanna and Others?
Tamannah and Mehreen are the two female leads opposite the stars. They have got decent roles concerning the length. Unfortunately, both overact. However, Mehreen takes the overacting to such a level that Tamannah appears restrained in comparison. Rajendra Prasad is fine but he has less scope. Apart, from them, there are many known character artists playing bits and pieces parts with unique quirks. They all stand out and register because they get that one funny scene or punch dialogue to remember. Vennela Kishore geta one of his worst roles in the recent past.

Music Director Devi Sri PrasadMusic and Other Departments?
Music by Devi Sri Prasad is again a downer. Even the background score doesn’t register as one would expect. The cinematography is alright. The editing is neat but for few parts in the second half.

Final Report:

Despite the apparent lack of story, the first half works due to Vintage Venky in full form. But, the same doesn’t work out in the second half which gets progressively weaker. Overall, F2 is an average comedy entertainer for the festival period. Visit back for our frank review soon.

Preview: F2

Sankranthi means a panorama of films for the Telugu audiences who would await a proper family entertainer loaded with family moments and comedy and of course, an intriguing story to knit those moments. ‘F2: Fun & Frustration‘ is expected to be that fun movie for this Sankranthi. Why?

The promo videos of the movie that are released so far, promise us a joy ride and have a sumptuous meal in the form of Venkatesh’s vintage comic timing. But, they also made us doubt if it is going to be Venky all through the movie. No complaints, anyway. If Venky has got a well-etched comic role, we also hope that Varun Tej has got his moments in the film.

Coming to the young hero, he tried Telangana dialect in this movie and it seemed to be good in the promos. The only apprehension one would have about the young hero is the thought if he was overshadowed by Venky and the comic antics that the senior hero was adept at. Anyhow, it’s good to see Varun Tej trying a multi-starrer with a senior hero and hope, he keeps experimenting with his choices.

It’s Anil Ravipudi, the director of F2 who made the promise that we will get to see Venkatesh’s ‘Nata Viswaroopam’ in this movie. The director’s cut in the promos is quite promising and going by his previous outings, there could be a Sankranthi feast waiting for us though nothing exceptional. The music album of the movie by Devi Sri Prasad was passable.

In the hen-pecked husband concept, Tamannaah and Mehreen Pirzada are expected to be very crucial in fun-creating moments of the movie. It’s expected to be nothing less than a laughter riot with the two ladies playing Venky and Varun Tej’s wives. The frames looked decorated with the beauty of these ladies.

The opening talk on the movie is going to be very crucial as ‘NTR Kathanayakudu’ is running with positive talk and there is also ‘Vinaya Vidheya Rama’ coming. Anil Ravipudi must keep up his promise to be in the race with the other two straight movies. Was he successful in giving a script to Venky for showing his Nata Viswaroopam? Was Varun Tej sandwiched by Venky or his choice was totally right?

It’s time to know the result and just wait. We’ll be back with ‘F2: Fun & Frustration’ mirchi9 review. Stay tuned, folks!
