What is “Doosukeltha” about?
Doosukeltha is the story of a person Chinna (Vishnu) who always get scolded by his father for being aimless. One fine day the father-son argument leads to marriage and to marry Chinna has to find a job. As he is the hero he immediately lands in a job that of a investigative officer. This job puts him in trouble with a big politician. Chinna also has another habit of helping someone who helps him even if the other person asks for it or not. Chinna at a critical stage is helped by Alekhya (Lavanya) and now Chinna wants to help her. In this process he comes to know that few people are after her and want to kill her. How Chinna saves her and how he solves her problem is what the film is about.

How is Manchu Vishnu?
If one is able to go past his looks, which are bad, Vishnu is actually very decent in the film. He overacts, imitates his father a number of time but that nonetheless entertains at one level. There are however moments where he tends to act cute that doesn’t suit him at all and undoes all the good part he does. He is good in action and decent in dance. Both of these features are enhances thanks to his physique which is quite good. If only he had a face that matched those.

How is Veeru Potla’s direction?
Direction by Veeru Potla is alright. He has a knack of narrating a simple story with good twists. It is a plus when he gets them right but sometimes the director just have these twists for the sake of it which neither interests not entertains. In Doosukeltha he treads this zone and it works in parts in the first half. Second half of the film is more linear and is almost like his debut Bindaas movie. Unlike Bindaas this is more finely dealt but is also more flat. The climax is very poor.

What about Lavanya, Kota Srinivas, Brahmanandam and others ?
Lavanya is a big asset to the film. She looks girl next door type and there is not even a bit of vulgarity in her demeanor. She has limited expressions but she manages them well. She could do well without pouting when asked to be sad or crying. Pankaj Tripati as main villain has played his part well. Brahmanandam is fine as usual. Once again director Veeru Potla gives him a good intro(remember Ragada?). Rao Ramesh again gets a different role that of a drunkard for a small part. He does that part well, when he isn’t a drunker, he is his usual self. Kota Srinivas Rao, Ahuti Prasad, Annapurna, Hema and other character artist do their routine on expected lines. Vennela Kishore is good in a brief appearances, Raghubabu is alright and Master Bharath is okay (its time he changed his act).

How is Music, Songs and Dances and other departments?
Music by Mani Sharma is poor barring a single song. He makes up with his background score which is excellent and once again reminds why he is the boss, in that aspect. Dances are decent and suit the body language of Vishnu. Cinematography is good and gives the film a rich look. Editing is jarring at times but decent overall.

What about its box office prospects?
The film has what it takes to be a clean entertainer for a family viewing. But the film doesn’t reach the entertainment quotient of Manchu Vishnu’s previous success Dhenikaina Ready which too had a predictable story but it had a far more engaging screenplay and emotion. Looking at the competition ahead the film might find it hard to survive unless they are even poorer.

Did I enjoy it?
Yes, in parts.
