Hrithik-RoshanWhat is the film about?
Rohan (Hrithik Roshan) is a blind guy living in a multi-religious community with inter-religious friendships. He falls in love with another blind girl Supriya (Yami Gautam) and marries her. How this blind guy takes revenge for what happens to his wife is what the film is all about.

How is Hrithik’s performance?
Hrithik Roshan is the lifeline of the movie, without him there is no film. There are few places where he looks out of character but overall he is pretty good. There were fears of over action based on the trailer but within the world that the director has created, it all looks fine.

His reaction when he finds about the issue with his wife, later his death and when he goes on a revenge spree. The interaction with the police at the interval point are all neatly performed.

Director-Sanjay-GuptaDirection By Sanjay Gupta?
Sanjay Gupta is a notorious ripper of foreign films. He simply replicates them in Hindi with the content suitably modified for the Indian audience. He does all that with lots of style and good music. However, many of those films were disappointing simply because they lacked an Indian soul.

With Kaabil, the director puts all those issues aside, retains his musical taste and delivers a predictable but engaging film with an Indian soul. We all know what is going to happen in the end but the director manages to hold interest, especially in the important second half when it matters the most.

The initial portions are too tiresome to sit through and feel rather boring after a point. The film picks up only towards the interval when the actual story begins. The interval is very neatly done. The second half has boring moments again but the revenge parts are neatly handled. Overall, there is an emotional fulfillment in the end but the very predictable nature of the story is the film’s biggest drawback.

Yami-GautamYami Gautam and others?
Yami Gautam’s pairing with Hrithik Roshan looks fresh and appealing in the songs. She has no scope in terms of performance as that aspect is completely written in favor of hero. Narendra Jha as an inspector is good without ever going overboard. Girish Kulkarni is wasted. Suresh Menon is alright. Ronit and Rohit Roy as brothers are good.

music-directorMusic and other departments?
Music by veteran Rajesh Roshan is good. The title track is the best of the lot. Background score is fitting to the mood of the film. The cinematography is fine, nothing flashy from Sanjay Gupta which is a relief. Editing is alright. Dialogues are below par in Telugu dubbing.

Urvashi-RautelaAlternative Take
The revenge sequences could have been planned better. Also, the beginning could have been racier with the love track being wrapped up soon.
