What is the film about?Abhinetri Review Script
Krishna (Prabhu Deva) is an urban working guy who wants to get married to urban sex women. His dreams are scattered when he is married to Devi (Tamannah) under unfavorable circumstances. What happens when Devi is possessed by a ghost when brought to Mumbai and how Krishna tackles with it is what the film is all about.
How is Prabhu Deva’s performance?
Prabhu Deva is effortless in portraying the character of a helpless urban guy who runs short on luck when it comes to marriage. He is given moments through out the run of the film that brings this aspect out in a funny manner. The subtle expressions that he puts to convey his plight is a delight to watch. Even the few emotions scenes are done in a convincing manner.
Direction By A. L. Vijay?Abhinetri Review Directorial Dept
AL Vijay burst onto the scene with a highly entertaining film. From then on he has been struggling to reach that pinnacle despite working with top actors. In Abhinetri it’s like he is returning to roots with a popular genre to boot.
He sets the premise of the film in an interesting and engaging manner hitting all the right notes. The interval is neatly done creating the right expectation for the second half. However after all the hard work the director fizzles out in the second half.
The film after starting on interesting note looses momentum and never recovers. It feels as if the director has no clue on what to do with the film and he simply lets it run the course at the beginner level with predictable twists and turns. The climax feels literally like a joke on audience rather than something well thought out. Overall parts of first half and beginning of second half are only the things that are worth mentioning in this mess.
Tamannaah, Sonu Sood and others?
Tamannah is the main lead of the film apart from Prabhu Deva. She controls the narrative of the film right from the moment she arrives. It only gets better and better as things progress. Narrative reach a peak during the initial stages of second half. She is the lifeline of the film along with Prabhu Deva. Sonu Sood’s characterization begins interestingly but it becomes very routine pretty soon. A part from these three characters Sapthagiri has the good role as hero’s friend. He makes full use of it. Prudhvi is wasted. Murali Sharma is hilarious as manager of a star. Others don’t make an impact.
Music and other departments?
Music for the film is provided by assorted composers. Mostly it sounds unique but that is because of usage of old popular tunes. Background music is predictable for the genre. The cinematography is excellent. Editing is very good. Dialogues by Kona Venkat are in his typical style.
Highlights?Abhinetri Review Good
Music in second half
A predictable alternative takes to the given storyline would lead us a right to the glorious past where this storyline has been done amazingly. The ghost angle needed proper background.
Did I enjoy it?
