What is “Aaha Kalyanam” about?
Aaha Kalyanam is the story of two characters Shakti and Shruti. They have different ideas about life and how they meet and form a bond. The turmoil’s in their relationship and how it all ends together is what the film is all about.
How is Nani’s performance?
Nani has a very challenging character here which unfortunately isn’t elevated partly due to poor writing and party due to the execution. The actor really never gets the chance to showcase his talent and only is effective during the climax of the film.
What about Gokul Krishna’s direction?
Director A Gokul Krishna seems to have simply done a cut-copy-paste job of the original. He has executed the film well but fails to bring in the soul required for the film. All the situations are there to get emotionally attached but the audience is never really involved in the proceedings.
Other artists performance?
Heroine Vani Kapoor has a towering personality and tries her best to infuse life into the proceedings. But her lack of experience shows in bringing the finer nuances to the fore. She has got a good emotional scene to enact and she does well in that scene. As far as character actors goes that’s where the real problem lies, there are absolutely none that one could identify with and this is where the local talent could have come to great use. Simran was present only for few scenes and she adds no real value to the film.
How is Music, Songs and other departments?
Music of the film by Dharan is lackluster and adds to the boredom overall. Background score doesn’t help the situation either. Cinematography and other technical departments reflect the standard of the production house Yash Raj Films, which means they are good.

What about the box office performance of the film?
It has all the chances to be another dud at the box office for Nani. It is simply bad planning from the actor to have releases back to back in this cut throat competition environment. Even slight bad word of mouth is going to have serious repercussions thanks to the close releases.
