Telugu Desam Party had won majority seats only in two places – Mydukuru and Tadipatri in the recent municipal elections. TDP has won 12 wards in Mydukuru and YSR Congress has got eleven. YSRCP’s number has gone up to thirteen with ex-officio votes.
One member of TDP stayed away from the election. The missing member’s son filed a kidnapping case on the local YSR Congress party leaders. The Single ward member who won from Janasena also helped the Ruling party by abstaining from the voting. As a result, YSR Congress managed to win Mydukuru.
Coming to Tadipatri, the ruling party tried its best to influence the TDP ward members but could not succeed due to the perfect planning of the JC Brothers. JC Prabhakar Reddy was declared elected as the Municipal Chairman. It is interesting to note that the Ruling Party supporters try to claim that they did not try to bag Tadipatri Municipality owing to the morals of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
In the end, TDP managed to get hold only one municipality out of the 75 municipalities that went to the election.
