Jagan-Kotamreddy-Sridhar-ReddyAndhra Pradesh Government recently increased monthly pension from 2,500 Rupees to 2,750 Rupees. This is a big burden for the cash-strapped Government but with elections approaching, it has become unavoidable.

But then, the Government is taking a back route to ease the burden. The Pension beneficiaries are being reduced for one reason or the other. Notices are being served for various reasons. This has triggered a huge panic among the beneficiaries.

We have seen YSR Congress MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy coming before the media and saying officials should not remove any of the existing pensions. “Once the pensions are removed, it is very difficult to reinstate them,” the MLA said.

But the Chief Minister says otherwise. “It is a routine process. Opposition is making a mountain of a mole. Notices will be served because the undeserving should not get them. Even if removed, they can be restored showing proofs,” the CM says so casually.

If it is a routine process, why there are a lot of notices all of sudden? And that too just before the increase in pensions? Why is it that even a YSR Congress MLA is worried?

The Chief Minister also says that the routine process will happen once every six months which means days to come are going to be tough for the beneficiaries of schemes.
