In Hindupuram of Sri Sathya Sai district, MLC Mohammad Iqbal faced protests from his own party leaders. MLC Iqbal came to Tummalagunta in Chilamathur mandal as part of ‘Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhutvam’.
However, MPTC Nagamani’s husband and her YSRCP leader Nagaraju tried to commit suicide by pouring petrol on themselves, asking the MLC not to come to their village.
They protested against the MLC coming to their village by overriding them. The police immediately arrested Nagaraju.
The MLC carried out his program as if nothing happened. On the other hand, YCP activists protested saying it is not appropriate for the MLC to hold programs as if their own party leaders’ suicide attempts did not matter.
Iqbal is the candidate to take on TDP’s Nandamuri Balakrishna in Hindupur. But he is continuously facing protests in the constituency in the Gadapa Gadapaku program. This time it is from his own party leaders.
