YSR Congress Trying To Encroach Seven Hills of TirumalaAndhra Pradesh BJP is under pressure to perform in the Tirupati by-election especially after Telangana BJP’s comeback in the Dubbaka by-election. Tirupati is a forte for YSR Congress due to the large-scale SC voting and moreover, the party is in power now.

Ruling Parties always do have an advantage in by-elections. However, BJP is trying to stoke communal tensions to win Tirupati. “If YSR Congress is voted to victory in Tirupati by-election, there are chances of encroaching the seven hills of Tirumala. If the hills have to be safe, it is important that BJP wins the elections,” BJP National General Secretary Satyakumar said.

The by-election in Tirupati is necessitated due to the sudden demise of sitting YSR Congress MP, Balli Durga Prasad. YSR Congress had rejected the ticket to his family and announced Jagan‘s personal physiotherapist as the candidate.

TDP also announced Former Union Minister Panabaka Lakshmi as its candidate. BJP had once won the Tirupati Lok Sabha segment in 1999 thanks to the alliance with TDP. It has been a strong belt of Congress earlier due to the large-scale SC voting and later that voter base shifted to Congress.
