Reports are emerging from the Political Circles that Opposition Leader, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is considering mass resignations by all his MLAs in protest against the Central Government for not granting the Special Status to Andhra Pradesh.
There is a State-wide Bandh for Special Status on 16th of this month and the announcement may come anytime after that. While Jagan is serious about this idea to portray YSR Congress as the lone fighter for the cause, many MLAs in the party are not interested.
They do not want to lose the grip on their constituencies in the run-up to the 2019 elections. But the party says the resignations will not be accepted by the Speaker anyways and there is no chance of by-elections since the elections are nearing.
