YSR Congress Let Goes Hopes on Upcoming Rajya Sabha PollsThe coming Rajya Sabha biennial polls in March are going to turn interesting as the ruling Telugu Desam Party is keen on getting all the three Rajya Sabha Seats that will go for elections in March. A minimum of 44 MLAs needs to support for electing one Rajya Sabha member.

YSR Congress is now effectively 45 MLAs after 22 MLAs have defected from the Party. Buzz in the Political Circles is that TDP is almost on the verge of bringing onboard Paderu MLA Giddi Eshwari and three more MLAs from Coastal Andhra.

If they come to TDP, YSR Congress may have to attract the MLAs from TDP and YSR Congress for Second and Third Preference Votes which is almost like impossible. Buzz is that YSR Congress already left hopes on the seat and the aspirants are also not interested due to this.

In the Previous Rajya Sabha Elections held in 2016, YSR Congress was able to send V. Vijay Sai Reddy as an RS member. Those retiring include Chiranjeevi, Renuka Chowdary, Devender Goud and CM Ramesh. TDP may renominate CM Ramesh once again.
