YS Vivekananda Reddy‘s former driver, Sheikh Dastgiri who is one of the accused in the former minister’s murder case has filed a petition in Kadapa Special Judiciary Magistrate Court. Dastagiri who already recorded his statement offered to become an approver.
He urged the court to dismiss his earlier statement since he is ready to turn into an approver. But CBI has objected to that and the case has been adjourned to the 17th of this month. He is named in the chargesheet filed by the CBI but Dastagiri evaded arrest by getting anticipatory bail.
In the first chargesheet filed by the CBI, there are no big names. The agency did not even call political leaders accused by Viveka’s daughter, Sunitha. The murder has happened just before the 2019 elections and YSR Congress has blamed the then ruling party – TDP for it.
After coming to power in 2019, Jagan Government has argued against the CBI inquiry but Viveka’s Daughter knocked on the high court’s door and got it. Majority of the names she submitted to the court as suspects belong to the YS family and YSR Congress.
