YS Jagan: The Third CM to lay Foundation Stone for Kadapa Steel PlantAndhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation stone for the Kadapa plant at Sunnapurallapalli in Jammalamadugu area. Jagan becomes the third Chief Minister to lay the foundation stone for the same project. It was first his own father Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy who laid the foundation stone in 2007.

The Project entered troubled waters along with huge allegations of Corruption. During the same time the last year, former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu did the honors after the Central Government backed off from its commitment terming the Project as unviable.

The Proposed Project will be grounded to an extent of 3295 acres of land at Sunnapurallapalle and Pedda Nandaluru villages in Jammalamadugu Mandal. Even though the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act mandates the Center to construct the Steel Plant, Jagan Government made no attempt to convince the center for this project and is taking up it on their own.

The current Government promises to complete the project in three years.
