After coming to power, Jagan started the Secretariat system. Many say this is brought to take control over the villages by making the Panchayat system redundant.
All of these people were appointed by Jagan and are naturally expected to be loyal to him.
But for some reason, Jagan is torturing them big term.
These employees are still on probation and are not made permanent employees of the government. As a result, they are deprived of many benefits and their employment is temporary.
Now, the government has brought in a new rule.
The Secretariat employees have to mark their attendance thrice – 10 AM, 3 PM, and 5 PM every day.
No other department in the government marks the attendance thrice.
Monitoring the work is fine but three times attendance per day is nothing but harassment the employees say.
“We still do not understand why Jagan is doing this to us. We are supposed to be his own people. We are tortured for no reason. He is just cutting the branch he is sitting on,” they say.
