KGF 2 is the next big-ticket outing that is gearing up to hit the Telugu box office. Despite being a dubbed film, KGF 2 was sold for really high prices in the Telugu states. In accordance, the makers have requested the governments of AP and Telangana to permit ticket price hikes.
As of now, KGF 2 might not get what it wants from the AP government. If anything, Jagan might use KGF 2 for his own benefit. Wonder how? Here’s the story.
The Jagan government set a new rule that ticket price hikes will be permitted only if the film’s budget is over Rs 100 crores excluding remunerations and also only if 20% of the shoot is held in AP. The government exempted RRR and Radhe Shyam as these films were already shot and there is too much at stake.
But the chances of the Jagan government helping KGF 2 are very weak. Needless to say, 20% of KGF 2’s shoot wasn’t carried out in AP. In all likelihood, Jagan’s government might use this to reject the ticket price hike plea and in the process, imply that he is a follower of rules.
In the case of RRR and Radhe Shyam, these two were Tollywood biggies and there might have been a few obligations for the AP government. But KGF 2 is a dubbed film and other will be no major obligations. It is heard that the AP government will reject KGF 2’s price hike plea. Either way, we will get more clarity on the same very soon.
