YS family is representing the Pulivendula constituency ever since 1978. Jagan won from the constituency with a record majority in 2019.
While Pulivendula continues to be the stronghold of the YSR Congress, sources say that Jagan is thinking along the lines to contest from the Jammalamadugu constituency in 2024.
Buzz in Kadapa district is that Jagan’s wife, YS Bharathi may contest from Pulivendula while Jagan will shift to the Jammalamadugu constituency.
Bharathi has been doing the back office works of Sakshi and YSR Congress for a long time.
There are rumors that she may want to come to active politics in the wake of a family feud going on between Jagan and Vijayamma/Sharmila.
YSR Congress has been winning Jammalamadugu ever since its inception. So, it is a safe seat, Jagan feels.
TDP recently addressed its leadership crisis in this constituency.
After losing two senior leaders (Rama Subbareddy and Adinarayana Reddy) in 2019, Chandrababu airdropped a young leader, Bhupesh Reddy into the constituency. He is the son of Adinarayana Reddy’s brother, former MLC Narayana Reddy. Bhupesh Reddy is actively touring the constituency.
