YS Jagan - High Court

Jagan Government tried making swift moves in the issue of Sangam Diary. It has taken Sangam Dairy Chairman and TDP Senior leader, Dhulipalla Narendra into custody and then, immediately gave a G.O. bringing the diary into Government’s custody.

The diary approached the High Court against this and the court struck down the G.O. terming it illegal. The court asked the directors to conduct the daily operations but said the sale or purchase of any assets can happen only with the court’s permission.

The court also opined that the Government has no locus standi on the diary and the complete powers rest with the directors. TDP is trying to corner the Government saying that the latter is keen on ‘encroaching’ the diary which has a 1000 Crore turnover.

TDP now says their allegation is true and the court order only proves how the Government is desperate to take over the diary. On the other side, Dhulipalla Narendra who is in ACB custody is infected with COVID-19 and is currently being treated at a Private hospital in Vijayawada.
