Andhra-Pradesh-High Court-Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar- JaganWe have already lost the count of the number of adverse judgments to Andhra Pradesh in courts and here is one more. AP High Court set aside the ordinance given by the State Government to change the service rules of the State Election Commissioner.

It has asked the Government to continue the previous Commissioner, N Ramesh Kumar with immediate effect. The court asked the Government to stop involving in vendetta politics and do something on the development front. The court opined that the State Government can not change the service rules of an SEC according to Article 213.

Immediately after the judgment, N Ramesh Kumar announced coming back to work. “Will conduct local elections after normalcy is restored. People are not permanent but Constitutional systems and their values will be,” he said in a statement released to media.

The State Government is contemplating to knock the door of the Supreme Court on this issue.
