Yeddyurappa Takes Oath, Will his Stint be Short-lived?BS Yeddyurappa has taken oath as the new Chief Minister of Karnataka amid so much of drama. The 2 AM hearing of the Supreme Court did not prevent the Oath Ceremony but asked BSY to submit the signatures of his supporting MLAs by tomorrow.

The Floor Test will take place in 15 days as insisted by the Governor. So, BJP has 15 days to poach the MLAs from Congress and JDS. If he fails to get the support of the eight MLAs needed, he will be the Chief Minister of Karnataka for the Shortest Duration once again after seven days in 2007.

Given what we have seen BJP can do in these four years under Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, it may not be difficult for them with Gali Janardhan Reddy now on their side. Reports are that BJP is offering 100 Crore and Cabinet Berth to each MLA who will support it.

Those MLAs who have issues with ED and CBI are being managed with those cases. The most disappointed one will be JDS State President HD Kumaraswamy who lost a chance to become the Chief Minister despite getting so close.
