Supreme Court Chief Justice LV Rmaana - YS Jagan Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has created a sensation of sort last year when he dashed a letter to the Chief Justice of India alleging that Supreme Court Judge NV Ramana is acting at the behest of Chandrababu Naidu and is influencing the Andhra Pradesh High Court proceedings against his government.

Jagan alleged corruption on NV Ramana in connection to Amaravati. He even made the letter public opening the pandora box. The Center even transferred the Chief Judge of AP High Court after that. Since then, there are rumors that the outgoing CJI will not recommend his successor and the Modi Government may circumvent a way not to make NV Ramana as the next Chief Justice.

However, nothing of such sort has happened. Justice NV Ramana will be sworn in as the 48th Chief Justice of India on April 24th. The Outgoing CJI Justice SA Bobde proposed senior most judge Ramana for the post, to the Law Ministry. Ramana will be in the post till August 26, 2022.

If the allegations of Jagan have any merit, naturally Andhra Pradesh Government will have tough times in the coming days. This appointment has come at the time when Andhra Pradesh High Court has started taking up the hearing of the petitions against the three capitals and Amaravati.
