Workers Boycott Work at PolavaramLooks like Problems are not evading Polavaram Project which is considered as the lifeline of Andhra Pradesh. As the state government began works of Upper Co the fer Dam, the staff and workers at the project site have boycotted the work from today after they are not given their payments from the last three months.

It is already known that the contractor, Transtrroy is in a deep financial mess and also defaulted the repayment of loans to banks. For this reason, the state government also convinced the center to allow to call tenders for a few works separately. Center has agreed to that after about two months of deliberations.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is keen to complete the Upper Coffer Dam works which will ensure that the water is given through gravity in this year itself. It will also help TDP in the 2019 elections. The state government officials are already into action to ensure that the work resumes.
