Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s maiden visit to Telangana revealed that TRS is looking at a bonhomie with BJP at the center. The Chief Minister KCR flattered the Prime Minister big time. The flattering is so big that Modi could not take on TRS in the public meeting of BJP much to the disappointment of the party’s state unit.
If Modi really complained anything about KCR, it is about the state government not celebrating Hyderabad Liberation Movement. TRS was very vocal about the issue while in the opposition but followed the stance of the previous governments while they came to power, obviously to appease MIM.
Modi called for having Thiranga Yatra from August 15th to September 17th (Hyderabad Liberation Day). TRS immediately after Gajwel meeting issued a whip to its Lok Sabha MPs to vote in favor of GST Bill Amendments. Now Modi has clarified his wish directly and will have to see if KCR fulfills that.
