Enforcement Directorate has filed one more Chargesheet in Penna Cements Case making YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Vijay Sai Reddy as Accused Number One and Two. As troubles mount for Jagan, the Opposition Leader got a lifeline from Tamil Nadu’s Sasikala.
Sasikala who is serving a Jail Term in a disproportionate assets case appealed to the Supreme Court to cancel all the charges against her since the Prime Accused in the case is no more. She cited the examples of other cases in which the remaining accused are granted relief when Prime Accused is dead.
Jagan Mohan Reddy will be tracking this development closely as YS Rajasekhara Reddy under whose regime all this happened is no more. But then, this will create more problems for Jagan in Political Front. As of now, Jagan is the Prime Accused in all these cases, he will now have to argue that YSR should be the A1.
The Popularity of YSR which Jagan is enjoying now will be gone all of sudden. So, this will be a catch 22 situation for the Opposition Leader. But before all that, one has to see if Sasikala will get respite from the Supreme Court with this legal loophole.
