Telangana Rashtra Samiti easily has the numbers to form government in the newly formed Telangana state. But the party is still desperate to rope MIM in to the government and even ready to offer crucial posts like Deputy CM to them. The reason for this is TRS’ less presence in the capital region. The party despite ruling the state only have 3 MLAs in the city. TDP+BJP combine is leading the city with 14 seats followed by MIM in 7 seats. So, with the friendship of MIM, TRS wants to make inroads in the Capital city.
On the other side, there is one more reason for this blossoming friendship. Elections for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is due in the next 6 months. Earlier Congress bagged the Mayor post with alliance of MIM. Now TRS is planning to do the same. MIM on the other hand is very serious on TDP and BJP making inroads in Hyderabad. BJP candidate gave tough competition to MIM President Asaduddin Owaisi in their own fortress. So MIM wants to nullify it with the help of TRS and most importantly the ruling government.
