Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao addressed the media for the first time last night after the recent election results. During the Press Meet, KCR reiterated that he stands by his earlier comments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi being a fascist and that has come as a surprise for political experts.
“I was the first one to have criticized Narendra Modi after he became the PM in 2014. I called him a fascist for taking away seven mandals from Telangana and giving them to AP. I stand by what I said. He is a fascist. But we maintain constitutional relations with the Center,” KCR said.
KCR skipped Modi’s swearing-in ceremony citing Technical Reasons. He also did not attend the NITI Aayog meeting chaired by the Prime Minister last week. He along with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is the only Chief Ministers to skip the meeting. KCR has also skipped today’s meeting of all the party Presidents chaired by PM Modi.
Modi praised KCR in the Parliament the last year while taking a dig at Chandrababu Naidu. So what went wrong between KCR and Modi? We are told that KCR is seeking a one to one appointment from the Prime Minister for a long time but is getting denied repeatedly. But that does not seem to be the only reason.
