Telangana Rashtra Samiti President K. Chandra Sekhar Rao met Congress President Sonia Gandhi a short while ago. He was accompanied by his daughter Kavitha, son, K.Taraka Rama Rao, cousin, Harish Rao and other family members. KCR after the meet said that there is no political motive behind the meeting and they met the Congress President only to thank her for Telangana state formation. He also added that he gave a report to Sonia about Telangana on issues like special packages etc.
However Political circles are of the opinion that KCR met Sonia Gandhi with his family regarding the proposed merger of TRS to Congress. It is said that KCR’s family is vertically split regarding the merger. KCR wanted them to meet Sonia Gandhi and get direct assurances from her regarding each of their political future. Rumours are ripe that TRS will be merging in to Congress. KCR will be the Chief Minister candidate and his family members will be given important cabinet portfolios.
