Alla Rama Krishna Reddy emerged as a Giant Killer by defeating Nara Lokesh in Mangalagiri in the 2019 elections.
The two-time MLA surprisingly lost grip on the party in the constituency and also the general public partly due to anti-incumbency and partly because of his inactivity.
Buzz is that Alla is going to shift to Sattenapally in the coming elections. The Anti-MLA groups in YSR Congress are conducting meetings and openly criticizing the MLA.
That leaves the question of who will take on Lokesh in 2024.
The Former minister gained ground in the constituency after 2019 and so the party leadership wants a strong candidate to defeat him.
Former Minister Murugodu Hanumantha Rao already joined YSR Congress and became an MLC. TDP Senior leader Ganji Chiranjeevi also joined YSRCP recently.
Both of them are expecting the Mangalagiri ticket. But the party’s high command opines both of them are not enough to take on Lokesh especially after considering the recent survey reports.
