The COVID Second Wave is on a rampage. The health care system in the country has broken down. The situation is easing in a few states but things continue to be on dangerous levels in Andhra Pradesh with a positivity rate of around 25-30%.
Newspapers and TV Channels are completely filled with tragic stories of people dying without hospital beds. This is a crucial juncture where Opposition can put pressure on the Government to act fast. This is also the right time to expose Government failures.
Telugu Desam Party, the main opposition party is doing that. But Janasena and BJP have gone into shell completely. BJP seems to be still struggling to come into terms with that Tirupati by-election humiliation where it lost the deposit. Pawan Kalyan who recently recovered from COVID-19 is confined to his farmhouse.
He is mostly dealing with Press Notes these days. On every issue, there is a Press Note from Janasena’s Twitter handle, and that’s it. Pawan Kalyan is neither coming before the media (at least virtually) nor tweeting at least from his Twitter handle. TDP has been trying to help the people with #SOSTDP and NTR Trust.
No political party can help people as much as a Government but there should be at least an effort. There is no such attempt from Janasena. If Janasena comes to the limelight only when there is an election, people may well forget it sooner or later.
