Sunil Kanugolu is the buzzing Political Strategist after Congress registered a Sensational Victory in Karnataka. Sunil’s Mindshare Analytics designed a perfect campaign around the allegations of ‘40% Commission Government’ of the BJP and it worked big time along with various other factors.
There is a sudden interest in who is this Sunil Kanugolu all of sudden in political circles and also the general public.
Sunil is a former colleague of Prashant Kishor before 2014. Unlike Prashant Kishor, Sunil Kanugolu does not have any online presence and their modus operandi also differs considerably.
Prashant Kishor is known for overpowering his clients and also takes credit for their successes. But Sunil is known for working in the shadows silently.
He also worked for MK Stalin and his DMK for the 2016 Assembly elections. He also worked closely with Amit Shah until February 2018 and ran successful campaigns for BJP in the state elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Karnataka. His client, DMK (UPA) won 38 out of 39 Lok Sabha constituencies in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in TN.
He parted ways with DMK in the assembly elections when Stalin wanted him to work together with Prashant Kishor.
He is currently working with Congress in Telangana for the Assembly elections in December.,
It is interesting to know Sunil Kanugolu also worked for TDP for a short period in 2022. He was roped in by the TDP in April 2022 and his assignment ended in September the same year.
There have been many theories why the relationship did not last longer but Chandrababu reportedly felt Mindshare Analytics modus-operandi is different and it may only build parallel structures within the party disturbing its well-structured hierarchy.
Sunil reportedly also agreed to Naidu and they decided to part ways amicably and with mutual respect.
TDP currently works with Robin Sharma’s Showtime Consultancy, a data consulting company, and will go to the coming election with that team.
There are reports that Sunil, however, still does small assignments for TDP like doing a detailed ground assessment and submitting the findings to the party.
