What is the Latest About The Lockdown in Hyderabad?

Share

A few days ago, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao hinted about another Lockdown in Hyderabad. He went on to say that it will be discussed in the Cabinet and a decision will be taken. However, it looks like the State Government has dropped this idea.

The other day, the State Government released a G.O. enforcing Night curfew enforced in Containment zones across Telangana (10 pm to 5 am) from today onwards. The shops and other establishments which were allowed to operate only up to 8 PM till now are now allowed toll 9.30 PM.

It looks like the Chief Minister has dropped the idea of imposing another Lockdown because, in case of a Lockdown, the timings of shops and other establishments would not be allowed. According to the medical bulletin released last night, the total number of cases in the state has gone up to 16,339.

GHMC, the capital region of Telangana alone has 12,396 cases which mean around 76% of the total cases in the state. The state has conducted around 88,500 cases until yesterday which is one of the least in the country. That is against the only way of combating Coronavirus – Test, Trace and Treat.
