What is Modi hiding from Naidu?Few months ago, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had instructed Niti Aayog to submit a road map for the central assistance to Andhra Pradesh. Niti Aayog had finished the exercise and submitted the report to the Prime Minister’s Office. However months after the submission, the state government is in dark about the recommendations.

The state government formally launched a request to the Prime Minister’s Office to give a copy of the report but the Center surprisingly rejected the request. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu time and again is asking the Center to announce the possible help from the center with fixed timelines, so that the state can plan its finances.

The Central government including every Project just allotted 6400 Crore for the state in the last couple of years, when the revenue deficit of the state alone is 16078 Crore. The state has requested the Centre to release Rs 4000 crore to pay the PRC arrears for the state government employees. The state government has spent Rs 2,245 crore from April 1st, 2014 but the Center so far only released 845 crore.
